Safiya Jafari Simmons is a connector, a public speaker, a writer, a strategist, a serial entrepreneur, and a minister with a heart for working with people and organizations who are mission-focused and purpose-passionate. 


While Safiya is a communications and PR professional by trade, but her passion is empowering, equipping, and encouraging women and young people to live radically – with radical faith, radical expectation, and radical boldness. 

She is the CEO and Chief Strategist of SJS Consultants, a media, PR, event production, and communications firm in Washington, DC; founder and Chief Inspiration Officer of Leap Executive Strategies™, a purpose planning consultancy for professionals of all levels; and founder of the Leap Luncheon Series™, a women’s empowerment and networking luncheon held nationwide that brings nationally-known women in entertainment, politics, business and pop culture together with ladies from cities across the country for a meal and motivation. Safiya is a Richmond, VA native, earned her BA from Lehigh University, and a Masters from St. Joseph’s University. She is a proud member of the Board of Trustees for her alma mater, Lehigh, and of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.

She and her husband, Enrique, are college sweethearts and have been together for nearly 20 years. They live in the DC-area with their children and dogs.
